West Seneca, NY (May 28, 2025) – Late this afternoon, a serious multi-vehicle accident on the westbound side of Interstate 90 near the ramps for Route 400 created major traffic disruption and left at least one person injured. The crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. on May 28 and involved several tractor-trailers, a black GMC SUV, and at least one other vehicle.
The incident led to the closure of the middle and right lanes of I-90 westbound. Only the left lane and exit ramp remained open as law enforcement and emergency crews responded to the scene. Significant delays rippled through the surrounding area. Motorists on I-90 westbound experienced stop-and-go traffic extending back to the I-290 interchange. Additional congestion was reported on Route 33 eastbound, which was backed up to Every Road, and the I-190 westbound, backed up to Smith Street.
Emergency responders treated injured victims at the scene before transporting them to local hospitals for additional evaluation and care. The exact number of people hurt has not yet been confirmed, but at least one person sustained injuries in the crash. Local authorities are still investigating the cause of the collision.
We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.
