Niagara Falls, NY (May 11, 2025) – Emergency services responded to a vehicle crash that occurred on Military Road on the morning of May 10 in Niagara Falls.
According to witnesses, a U-Haul truck traveling along Military Road, just south of Niagara Falls Boulevard, slammed into the rear of a red Econoline van. The force of the impact pushed the van through the intersection. The U-Haul then continued traveling north, ultimately colliding with a utility pole on Military Road.
Firefighters from the Niagara Falls Fire Department arrived and had to cut through the U-Haul’s door to extricate the driver, who was trapped inside. American Medical Response (AMR) transported the driver to a nearby hospital for treatment. Reports indicate the individual sustained non-life-threatening injuries. National Grid crews were dispatched to the location to repair the heavily damaged utility pole, which appeared to be splintered and at risk of collapse. Traffic in the area was temporarily diverted as authorities worked the scene and utility repair teams ensured the area was safe. Niagara Falls Police are currently investigating the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
We hope the driver recovers quickly and receives the care they need.
