Martha Pigott, Esq., is a Buffalo-based personal injury attorney licensed to practice in New York State and the United States District Court for Western New York. Ms. Pigott has worked in business litigation, personal injury law, and appellate practice; she additionally serves as an advocate for human rights law within the criminal justice system in Malawi, Africa.
Prior to joining Pigott Law Group as an associate personal injury attorney, Ms. Pigott worked as an associate lawyer at Hodgson Russ, LLP., on complex litigation cases. She has also worked in personal injury law with The Barnes Firm, where she also served as appellate counsel.
Ms. Pigott has argued in both State and Federal Courts within New York, including the New York Appellate Courts at both the Fourth Department and Second Departments. Ms. Pigott has written countless appellate briefs and secured life-changing six-digit settlements for her clients.
Ms. Pigott earned her law degree from SUNY at Buffalo School of Law. She also holds a Masters Degree in International Development from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy from William Smith College in Geneva, New York.
Before she became an attorney and turned her attention to personal injury victims in New York, Ms. Pigott served two years with the United States Peace Corps, working as a health volunteer in a rural village in Malawi, Africa.
After completing her Masters Degree in international development, Ms. Pigott returned to Malawi as the Country Coordinator for U.S.-based non-profit, Project Healthy Children, and continued to serve as the Country Coordinator for Zimbabwe as well.
Ms. Pigott is currently serving as a Program Lawyer alongside the Malawi Police Service for the Irish-based non-profit, Irish Rule of Law International, where she assists children in conflict with the law and ensures adherence to the rights of detained individuals.
Ms. Pigott is the acting Executive Director of The Brick Foundation, founded by her brother David during her Peace Corps service, and a member of the Grand Island, New York chapter of ZONTA, a global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.
Ms. Pigott enjoys travel, writing, and spending time with her husband and two children.
